Former US President Donald Trump has made history by becoming the first president to be impeached twice. He has also made history by having his trial take place after he has left office. What is the constitutionality of Trump’s second impeachment trial? What is the future of impeachment as a political tool as a result of this trial? Doug Becker speaks with Frank Bowman III and Eric M. Freedman.

Frank Bowman III is a Floyd R. Gibson Missouri Endowed Professor of Law at the University of Missouri School of Law. He is an expert in criminal law and is the author of High Crimes and Misdemeanors: A History of Impeachment for the Age of Trump.

Eric M. Freedman is a Distinguished Professor of Constitutional Rights at Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University. He is an expert in constitutional law and is the author of Making Habeas Work: A Legal History.
