New research from the University of Canterbury has revealed a gender pay gap exists in New Zealand universities. The data showed that, on average, a female academic is likely to earn $200,000 less than their male counterparts. The research is the largest of its kind and looked at individual performance data of 6,000 researchers across New Zealand. Sam Denne spoke with study lead-author, Ann Brower.
