Last week, Twitter announced it would ban all political advertising from the 22nd of November. Founder Jack Dorsey says that political reach should be earned, not bought. The announcement came as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg testified on Capitol Hill about Facebook’s role in disseminating misinformation. Mary Margaret-Slack spoke with Neal Curtis about the ban and how it will impact democracy.

Neal Curtis is an Associate Professor in Media and Communications at the University of Auckland. He is an expert in critical theory and ubiquitous media.
