California is about to vote on whether to recall their governor and replace him with one of forty-six candidates. This process has uncovered a serious challenge for the governability of the state, and California now faces a governability crisis. Is the recall process constitutional? Is it undermining democracy? Doug Becker speaks with Erwin Chemerinsky and Henry Brady.
Erwin Chemerinsky is the Dean of Berkeley Law School. He is an expert in constitutional law and is the author of The Case Against the Supreme Court.
Henry Brady is a Professor of Political Science and Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley. He is an expert in electoral politics and is the co-editor of Capturing Campaign Effects.
