How has Brazilian politics been affected by COVID-19? 🔊

Brazil is the largest country in South America, with the highest GDP, a huge population, large urban towns, and a deep divide between rich and poor. Its response to the coronavirus pandemic has implications not only for the country itself but also for the region and the world. Doug Becker speaks with Erica Resende about the policies and actions of the Bolsonaro regime, the complexities of Brazilian federalism, and the state of Brazil in the pandemic.

Erica Resende is an Assistant Professor of International Relations and Security Studies at the Brazilian War College in Rio de Janeiro. She is an expert in post-conflict studies and is the co-author of Crisis and Change in Post-Cold War Global Politics: Ukraine in a Comparative Perspective.
